You Can Help by Donating…
…New or Gently Used Items to the Hope Room
The Hope Room provides items that a family will need immediately when a child is placed. When a child enters a home for the first time, they usually arrive with only the clothes on their back and maybe a bag that was quickly filled by a social worker or a police officer.
Foster parents can take their foster child and receive free clothes and items they need at the Hope Room. The child also receives a new toy, book or stuffed animal that is sure to bring a smile to a hurting child. After a child is placed, the foster family can visit the Hope Room up to three times a year to get new sizes and appropriate seasonal clothes.
The First Church of the Nazarene in Lewiston, Idaho lets us use a house they own for free for the Hope Room and also the Homes of Hope office.
Items needed: clothing and shoes, sizes: preemie/infant, toddler, childrens and juniors/teens; twin, trundle, bunk or toddler beds; bedding; dressers; highchairs; small toys; and children’s books. You can also donate cribs and car seats, but they must be new.
Contact Shawn at (208) 790-2638 or firstname.lastname@example.org for the items needed the most as well as drop-off times and location.
Your gift will help a foster child attend lessons (piano, gymnastics, guitar, dance, etc.), be involved in sports, seasonal activities and events (prom, aquatic centers, Silverwood, ski pass, fairs, etc.). or for a child to receive specialized counseling or therapeutic materials. A monetary gift also will allow the foster parents caring for foster children to receive training, support, respite reimbursement and be appreciated by sponsoring special events.
