Job Description

Homes of Hope Director

The Homes of Hope (HOH) Director is responsible for overseeing the volunteers, programs, and execution of the mission of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.


  • Work directly with the Board to implement programs that carry out HOH’s mission
  • Communicate effectively with the Board and provide, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and make informed decisions
  • Lead and manage volunteers; delegate tasks effectively
  • Recruit and train volunteers
  • Ensure fiscal integrity of HOH to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget, which accurately reflects the financial condition of the organization, and day-to-day management of the budget
  • Attend meetings and working closely with State agency social workers, staff and other partnering organizations.
  • Submit to Board on an annual basis a ministry plan and ensure plan is executed
  • Expand local revenue-generating and fundraising activities
  • Build up HOH’s presence in the community through marketing and public relations
  • Actively engage all HOH volunteers, board members, funders, Idaho and Washington Department of Children and Family Services and partnering organizations
  • Attend all board meetings


Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field preferred
  • Two or more years’ experience in the nonprofit sector, or related
  • Professed faith in and a relationship with Christ
  • Knowledge of foster care system and child welfare system
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to work well with others
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Competent computer skills to include MS Office, e-mails, and internet
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, resolve issues, and use creativity to improve relationships and the organization
  • Demonstrated passion for ministry to foster children and families
